Light energy, aimed at the follicle
Laser hair removal sends a pulse of light into the hair follicle. The pigment in the hair absorbs it as heat, which damages the follicle's ability to grow a new hair while the skin around it stays protected. Shaving and waxing only deal with the hair you can see, which is why laser results build over a series instead of lasting a few days.
The Elite iQ uses two wavelengths: 755nm Alexandrite for lighter skin and 1064nm Nd:YAG, the safer choice for deeper skin tones. We choose based on your skin and hair at each visit. Not sure where your skin falls? Try the Fitzpatrick skin type quiz.
Laser is permanent hair reduction, not permanent hair removal. Most people end up with far less hair than they started with, and finer hair at that. I'd rather you know that going in than feel let down at your last session.

What to expect
Most sessions take ten to thirty minutes, depending on the area. Little to no downtime; most people go straight back to their day.
We look at your skin tone, hair color, and hair density, talk through your goals, and give you a realistic sense of how many sessions you'll need.
Shave the area the day before or the day of. Skip sun, tanning, and self-tanner for two weeks beforehand, and don't wax or tweeze between sessions.
Eye protection goes on, and the laser delivers quick pulses. Most people describe it as a warm snap. Built-in cooling keeps it tolerable.
Mild redness usually fades within hours. Avoid heat and hard workouts for 24 hours, wear SPF, and let treated hairs shed on their own over one to two weeks.

Once your series on an area is complete, touch-ups on that area are 50% off the single-session price.

Brazilian and bikini are two of our most requested areas. We keep those appointments professional, private, and quick. Hormonal facial hair responds well too, though it can need more sessions and the occasional touch-up.

How many laser hair removal sessions will I need?
Most people need six to eight sessions spaced four to six weeks apart, and some need more depending on hair density, hair color, hormones, and the area. Hair grows in cycles and laser only affects follicles that are actively growing, so spacing sessions out is how every follicle gets treated. We'll give you a realistic estimate at your consultation.
Is laser hair removal permanent?
It's FDA-cleared for permanent hair reduction, not permanent removal. After a full series most people have far less hair, and what grows back is usually finer, lighter, and slower. Hormones, pregnancy, and age can prompt some regrowth over the years, which is why we offer half-price touch-ups through Laser Hair Removal for Life.
How does Laser Hair Removal for Life work?
Once you've completed your treatment series on an area, touch-ups on that area are 50% off the single-session price for as long as you're a patient here. For many people the series is six sessions; others need more depending on hair density, color, and hormones. We decide your series is complete based on how your hair is actually responding, and we'll tell you when you're there.
Does laser hair removal hurt?
Most people describe it as a quick warm snap, like a rubber band, that lasts a fraction of a second per pulse. The Elite iQ cools the skin as it works. Sensitive areas like the bikini line and upper lip feel more intense than legs or back, but sessions there are short.
Is laser hair removal safe for darker skin?
With the right laser and settings, yes. The Elite iQ's 1064nm Nd:YAG wavelength bypasses more of the pigment in the skin, which makes it the safer choice for deeper skin tones, while the 755nm Alexandrite works well for lighter skin. We choose based on your skin assessment at each visit.
Can I get laser hair removal with a tan?
Not on recently tanned skin. A tan adds pigment to the skin, so the laser can heat the skin itself instead of the follicle, which raises the risk of burns or discoloration. Avoid sun and self-tanner for at least two weeks before each session.
Does laser work on blonde, red, or gray hair?
Laser targets pigment, so black and dark brown hair respond best. Light brown and dark blonde can respond but usually need more sessions. Very light blonde, red, gray, and white hair have too little pigment for laser to work reliably, and we'll tell you that at your consultation rather than sell you a series that won't do much.
How much does laser hair removal cost?
Pricing depends on the size of the area. Current rates are on our pricing page, and payment plans are available if you'd like to spread the cost of a series out.
